Dorsett Kuala Lumpur recently hosted a glittering evening in honour of Datuk Fan Bingbing, one of the most celebrated Chinese actresses, admired worldwide for her extraordinary talent and timeless beauty. The occasion also marked two significant milestones for her in Malaysia — the conferment of her Datukship in Melaka and the launch of her signature beauty products, Fan Beauty Diary in Malaysia.

The intimate celebration was organised by Datin Jasmine Abdullah Heng, Vice Chairman of Dorsett Hospitality International (Malaysia), & Ms Peggy Tan, General Manager at Dorsett Kuala Lumpur, one of the group’s flagship properties in Bukit Bintang. Known for her advocacy of women’s affairs and charitable causes, Datin Jasmine continues to be a leading voice for female empowerment in hospitality, business, and the creative industries.

The evening was graced by the distinguished presence of Dato’ Seri Maimunah, the Datuk Bandar of Kuala Lumpur, whose visionary leadership has transformed the city into a vibrant global metropolis and earned her overwhelming public support through her remarkable achievements. Also, present was Dato’ Yasmin Mahmood, Chairman of Tourism Malaysia, a dynamic leader at the forefront of driving Malaysia’s international tourism agenda & few other distinguished VIPs.

As a hospitality brand that champions women leaders within its own ranks, Dorsett was proud to extend its support in celebrating Datuk Fan’s achievements. This reflects the brand’s ongoing commitment not only to creating memorable experiences but also to recognising the role of women in shaping industries and communities.

As women, it is important we support and celebrate one another’s achievements,” said Datin Jasmine Abdullah Heng. “Datuk Fan has achieved remarkable success in the filming industry and her beauty line, and she is now being recognised for her contributions to tourism as well. Her connection with Melaka and Malaysia represents an inspiring new chapter in her journey—one that we are truly proud to celebrate here at Dorsett Kuala Lumpur”.

In a thoughtful nod to Datuk Fan’s love of durian, Dorsett Kuala Lumpur, generously supported by Mr Loke Kah Peng, Owner of Agro Best Services, a trusted curator of premium durians, to create a durian buffet by the pool, transforming Malaysia’s beloved King of Fruits into the highlight of the evening. Premium varieties such as Musang King, Red Prawn and a few other varieties were served alongside refreshing coconuts and local delights prepared by Dorsett Kuala Lumpur's award-winning chefs. Against the evening breeze and the backdrop of the city skyline, the event became a refined reimagining of Malaysia’s durian experience in an urban luxury setting.

All the Management and Staff of Dorsett Kuala Lumpur extend their warmest congratulations to Datuk Fan. With her immense global popularity, especially in China, she will continue to bring greater visibility to Melaka, Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia, significantly boosting awareness of our country as an attractive tourism destination in the lead-up to Visit Malaysia Year 2026
